Managing reactors
Learn how to view, edit, and end reactors in the Loyalty Console. Manage reactor statuses and understand how edits and archiving work in the Loyalty Engine.
You can view, create, edit, and end reactors using the Loyalty Console or via the Reward Configuration API. This article covers how to manage reactors in the Loyalty Console.

Viewing reactors
Reactors are managed in the Loyalty Console under the Events tab. The Reactors screen allows you to:
View all reactors in your loyalty tenant and filter them by status.
Export the reactor list to CSV.
Create new reactors.
Edit or clone existing reactors.
Reactor statuses
Reactors can have one of three statuses:
Active: The reactor is currently processing incoming events.
Scheduled: The reactor is set to activate at a future date and will not process events until that time.
Ended: The reactor has been archived or reached its end date. Once ended, a reactor cannot be reactivated.
Editing a reactor
When you edit a reactor, the original configuration is ended, and a new reactor is created with the revised settings. This ensures that reactions from events triggered by the original reactor can still be traced.
Editing a reactor resets the activation history, so if an activation limit is in place (e.g., a user can only activate it once), they can trigger the newly created reactor again.

Deleting a reactor
Reactors in the Loyalty Engine cannot be deleted. Instead, they are archived, meaning their end time/date is set in the past. Once a reactor has 'ended', it cannot be reactivated or edited. Archived reactors are considered ended and will no longer process events.
FAQs
Can I reactivate a reactor that has been ended?
No, once a reactor is ended, it cannot be reactivated. To use a reactor with similar settings, you can clone the original reactor and apply any required updates, which will create a new active reactor.
What happens if I edit a reactor with an activation limit?
Editing a reactor creates a new version with a reset activation history. This means any activation limits, such as “once per user,” will apply fresh to the updated reactor, allowing previously activated users to trigger it again.
Why are there duplicates of my active reactors showing in the 'Ended' list?
When a Reactor is edited, its previous state is copied into the 'Ended' view to serve as a reference point.
How do I restore a reactor back to a previous state?
Click 'Clone' next to the reactor you wish to restore in the 'Ended' view. You will then be taken to the reactor creation flow with the content of the previous reactor pre-populated.
You will need to give the Reactor a unique name and also specify when you would like the reactor to be effective from/to under the Effectivity tab. If you'd like the reactor to be effective immediately and indefinitely, pick an 'Effective from' time of one minute in the future. Leave 'Effective indefinitely' toggled on.
