3. App configuration
You can choose from a range of configuration options to tailor the Loyalty Mobile App experience to your use case.
Configuring your app
Your onboarding manager will select configuration options that align with your loyalty program’s needs. If you’d like to make changes, you’re welcome to specify these preferences.
Since these options are hard-coded when the app is built, any preferences must be confirmed before the build phase of onboarding. Changes to configuration can still be made later or after the app goes live, though this will require an app update and may incur additional charges.
Please consult with your onboarding manager to ensure your preferences are captured early in the process.
App configuration checklist
First launch screen
Your first launch screen is shown to users after installing the app before they register. It is only shown once, and will not show during subsequent app opens unless the app has been deleted and reinstalled.
With Onboarding Slides, you can specify a unique background colour per slide, or a single image for all slides. You can specify the top title text, the bottom descriptor text and a central image per slide. See 2. App theming for more information on the required assets. The slide layout cannot be altered.
With Bullet Points, you can specify custom text for between 3-4 bullet points. The screen layout cannot be altered.
Account registration
Profile schema
When registering an account in the Loyalty Mobile App for the first time, users are always asked for their name, email address and a password.
You can choose to request additional information during signup. Requesting additional information adds a 'Step 2' to the account registration flow which includes the additional profile fields as well as any Consents you have added in your tenant.
Custom profile field options
You can choose to make a field required or optional.
You can validate fields (i.e. must be DOB over particular age, must be particular format like a mobile number).
You can have free input fields or dropdown fields (single choice only).
You can choose to show a profile field during registration and on the edit profile screen, or only on the edit profile screen.
Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy
Users will be presented with your program terms & conditions and privacy policy during signup, which they must agree to.
App home screen
Your app home screen is the first screen your end-users see after logging in. You can choose to display either of the three following options as your app homescreen.
Choosing Rewards List as your app home screen means your app will open straight into your chosen Rewards List layout (see ‘Rewards List Layout’ below), with no Grid or Categories picker present.
The Categories option adds a category picker overlay to your chosen Rewards List layout, allowing users to navigate through your Reward Categories as specified in the Loyalty Console. You can choose to hide the black gradient and/or reward category name overlaid on the category artwork for a more bespoke look.
The Grid option adds a grid of links on the home screen, with the rewards list accessible as one of those links. For Earn Points and Contact Us, you can choose a link to open. If you have the Receipts module, there will be a fourth option for 'Upload Receipt'.
Reward list
You can choose to show rewards in a one, two or four-wide layout.
Rewards are shown in a one-column layout with reward artwork, title, summary and points value shown per reward.
Rewards are shown in a two-column layout with reward artwork, title, summary and points value shown per reward.
Rewards are represented exclusively by their artwork and incentive configuration in this style. Reward details such as title, summary and description are only shown once a reward is selected.
Reward list category carousel
You can choose whether you’d like your rewards list showing with a rewards or venues category carousel.
The rewards category carousel shows a filter bar of reward categories at the top of the list.
The venues category carousel shows a filter bar of venue categories at the top of the list, which filters rewards based on the venue they are associated with’s category. If a reward is not associated with a venue, it is shown in a fixed ‘Highlights’ section at the top.
You can see a preview of the category carousel in the Four-wide Reward List layout preview above.
Activity or wallet screen
You can choose between an Activity tab or a Wallet tab.
The Wallet screen allows users to save voucher-code rewards to their Wallet, to redeem at a later point.
A user's activity log can be seen by tapping 'Recent Activity' at the bottom of the Wallet screen which opens a drawer.
You can optionally choose to show a different 'empty wallet' graphic.
No code voucher redemptions are always instant and cannot be saved to wallet.
Users are given the option to 'save reward to wallet' after purchase.
Users see a Wallet tab in the primary navi rather than an Activity tab.
Users can browse the vouchers inside their wallet.
Users can see their recent activity by tapping 'Recent Activity' at the bottom of the Wallet.
Hamburger menu
Items in the Hamburger menu can either link to a web address URL or show rich format text (no images) only. They cannot link to other screens within the app or perform ‘functions’ (such as specific reward categories, venues, logout etc.).
